Another Real Madrid youngster has ‘caught the eye’ of Xabi Alonso | OneFootball

Another up-and-coming member of the academy ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has piqued the attentions of first-team head coach Xabi Alonso.

That’s according to journalist Ramón Álvarez de Mon, who points towards Álvaro Lezcano as the player in question.

Lezcano, for his part, is a 17-year-old defender, who chiefly operates in a central role.

The starlet has long been turning heads in Spain’s capital courtesy of his performances at youth level, considered a potential future star in the making.

And as alluded to above, word of such talents has now reached the first-team setup at Valdebebas.

This comes amid confirmation that Lezcano has been afforded a call-up to senior training, amid Real Madrid’s ongoing preparations for the new campaign.

As per a report from the aforementioned Ramón Álvarez de Mon:

‘Álvaro Lezcano, center-back from 2008, is training with the first team. I’m told he has caught Xabi Alonso’s attention.’
