Manchester City’s need to sign a midfielder or two next month is by now well known. City’s engine room appears tired, old slow and in desperate need of reinforcements. The January transfer window is just around the corner and now a Serie A midfielder has once again been named as a potential Manchester City target. That is AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders. As previously reported he ticks a lot of boxes required to play for a Pep Guardiola squad. Now a new report indicates that he may be gettable next month.

Danny Rust and Dean Jones have reported for GIVEMESPORT that Tijjani Reijnders is open to a move in the January transfer window. Rust and Jones further report that Reijnders could be on the lookout for a fresh challenge. This situation could potentially play into Manchester City’s hands. Furthermore, Rust and Jones add that the Dutch international was reportedly a target last summer for Manchester City.

Manchester City need readymade midfielders next month and Tijjani Reijnders fits the bill.

What Manchester City need next month is readymade players. Especially in midfield. Any player with the ability to slot straight into Pep Guardiola’s midfield would be of immense value. It wouldn’t be a surprise for Manchester City to spend big in January to find exactly that. Typically, City buys younger players and lets them develop into stars. But their needs are different in January and they may force them to look for players who can step in and fill a void. Tijjani Reijnders looks to be one of those types of players.

Reijnders has been one of the best midfielders in Serie A this season. The Dutch international has taken his game to another level during the 24/25 season. There is an argument to be made that he is AC Milan’s most important player. With his technical ability and physical attributes he would immediately bring a new dimension to Manchester City’s midfield. Although the hard part may be signing him for AC Milan. But on paper, at least, he looks to be the type of player the Premier League champions should be looking to sign next month.

Tijjani Reijnders could do a job for Pep Guardiola’s side. That is not in question. Whether or not he is gettable appears to be the question. The report from GIVEMESPORT gives the impression that there may be a chance for Manchester City to move for Reijnders. It is looming as a move they must investigate to see if there is any chance of landing the Dutch international next month.
