There was a meeting between the two managements of Real Madrid and AC Milan prior to last night’s game at the Santiago Bernabeu, a report has revealed.

According to MilanNews, a meeting between the Milan management and Real’s owner/president Florentino Perez did take place, even if it was not via the customary UEFA lunch that normally takes place.

At around 11am, the cars carrying the Rossoneri delegation crossed the gates of the Valdebebas sports centre where the Madrid number one welcomed them.

It was a visit that lasted about an hour and a half, where the facilities of the Ciudad Deportiva del Real – one of the most cutting-edge sports centres in the world – were viewed first hand.

Once that was over, the Milan management returned to the hotel while the delegation designated to participate in the UEFA lunch went to the historic restaurant ‘Zalacain’. Perez communicated in advance his absence due to a work commitment at his construction company.

Meanwhile, ANSA (via MilanNews) Gerry Cardinale went into the dressing room after the game and said he was proud of Milan, congratulating the team after a 3-1 victory.

He said he ‘appreciated that the team remained united’ underlining that the ownership and management are always at their side to support them both individually and collectively.

Cardinale then said he will take with him when he returns to the United States the satisfaction of having seen Milan demonstrate at the Bernabeu the potential that they can achieve things as a team.
