Manchester United have their eyes on one of the Premier League’s best attackers.
United revamped their frontline over the summer, signing Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko for a combined fee of over £200m.
The trio has had a promising start to life at Old Trafford. However, United’s attacking depth is far from impressive, especially following the departures of Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, and Rasmus Hojlund.
Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United tried to sign Antoine Semenyo ahead of the new season.
The Red Devils “aggressively targeted” Semenyo and even agreed personal terms with the 25-year-old, but they refused to meet Bournemouth’s valuation of the Ghana international.
Eventually, the electric winger renewed his contract with the Cherries until the summer of 2030.
According to talkSPORT, Bournemouth are “braced for serious interest” from England’s biggest clubs in Semenyo despite extending his deal at Vitality Stadium.
It is claimed both United and Tottenham Hotspur held talks with the Ghanaian forward, and they “continue to monitor” his incredible rise under Andoni Iraola.
The ex-Bristol City star has started the new season on fire, bagging six goals and three assists in just seven Premier League games.
Bournemouth allegedly believe their talisman is now worth north of £75 million.
Semenyo is capable of playing all across the frontline, and could prove to be an interesting choice for a left wing-back role under Ruben Amorim.
Patrick Dorgu, who played as a winger at Lecce, currently occupies the position at United. The 20-year-old is often the most advanced man on the pitch in Amorim’s 3-4-3 system, but his output remains underwhelming due to his indecisiveness in the final third.
