Attentions now shift back to the Premier League title race where City trail Arsenal by two points with only two games remaining.

In fact, if Arsenal beat Burnley and then Man City fail to pick up three points away at Bournemouth around 24 hours later then Mikel Arteta’s side will be crowned champions of England for the first time in 22 years.

However, Semenyo, who scored the winning goal in the FA Cup final, has insisted celebrations have been put on hold as Man City aim to take the Premier League title race into the final day of the season.

"I don't think there will be much celebrations tonight it is getting ready for Tuesday,” Semenyo told BBC Sport.

“Just train the same way we have been training and hopefully the results fall in our hands, so we just have pray that happens.”

The FA Cup is the second trophy Semenyo has won at Man City following his move from Bournemouth in the January transfer window.

"It has happened a couple of times in training - it happened perfectly today,” he added when discussing his improvised finish to break the deadlock in the Wembley showpiece.

"Everything happened so fast to be honest. It came straight to me and I had to improvise myself as quickly as I can.

"I have never competed for trophies like this before, so everything is new to me. Hopefully, we can finish the job off.

"It is a good finish, I can't lie. As a kid I have always wanted to be playing for the top teams - it took a long time to get there, but I am grateful.”
