Antonio Conte has confirmed he is leaving Naples after a 1-0 win over Udinese on Sunday, the 38th and final day of Serie A.

According to L'Équipe, he outlined the decision at a news conference alongside club president Aurelio De Laurentiis.

Conte said he had called the president a month ago to end their working relationship, adding that his mind was already made up.

He admitted failing to build cohesion within the squad, noting that without it, competing with other teams becomes difficult. He described a toxic climate around the side and said Naples does not need setbacks that spread poison.

Conte, 56, spent two seasons at Naples. He delivered the club’s fourth Scudetto in his first campaign but did not repeat the feat in 2025-26. He is being tipped to take charge of the Nazionale, having previously led Italy from 2014 to 2016.
