António Silva may leave Benfica in the January window after contract renewal negotiations stalled. The Seixal academy product is one of the club's most valuable assets, but his continuity looks far from guaranteed.
According to Glorioso 1904, there have been no significant developments in talks on a new deal for the 22-year-old, whose contract runs to 2027. The uncertainty has put supporters on alert.
With progress proving difficult, Rui Costa is prepared to negotiate a winter exit. Benfica are said to be seeking around €30m to release the defender, a figure that underscores the urgency to resolve a long-running situation.
Links to several centre-backs have emerged, most recently Nahuel Herrera, suggesting the hierarchy are quietly planning for life without the Portugal international. The transfer window could bring movement at any time.
This season, António Silva, valued at €30m, has made 25 appearances, totalling 2,023 minutes. His tally includes 11 in Liga Portugal Betclic, nine in the Champions League, three in the Taça de Portugal, one in the Taça da Liga and one in the Supertaça.
