Enzo Fernandez was taken off against Manchester United due to fatigue not injury according to Argentine journalist Gaston Edul.

The 25-year-old found himself back in the starting line-up having served a two game ban for comments he made about his future over the international break.

Unfortunately Fernandez was unable to prevent Chelsea from losing 1-0, their fourth consecutive league defeat without scoring.

Argentine journalist provides update on Enzo Fernandez

Fernandez had a good opportunity in the first half which he arguably should have scored, but he was taken off in the second half.

However, Edul has provided an update on the situation and has suggested Fernandez isn’t actually injured at all.

He took to X.com and said:

“Enzo Fernández came off due to fatigue. He has no injury.”

There are still doubts surrounding Fernandez’s future, and it’s thought negotiations over a new contract will resume after the World Cup.
