Arne Slot expects Mohamed Salah to return after AFCON | OneFootball

Arne Slot addressed Mohamed Salah’s status after the Africa Cup of Nations following Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Brighton in the Premier League’s 16th round on Saturday.

He told beIN Sports: "He is a Liverpool player, so I expect him to come back afterwards". Salah is set to join Egypt in the coming hours for the tournament.

At full time the forward took a lap of honour at Anfield that looked like a farewell, while it remains unclear whether he will wear the Reds shirt again.

Later, in his press conference, the Dutchman said: "For me there is no problem to solve. For me it is the same as with any other player".

Asked about a discussion held on Friday with the 33-year-old winger, Slot declined to disclose details. "I never say anything about the content of our discussions with players, I will not make an exception now, but I believe actions speak louder than what was said. He was back in the squad and, when I had to make my first change, I brought him on".
