According to La Repubblica, Arsenal and Aston Villa are interested in Atalanta striker Mateo Retegui.
Italy international Retegui has attracted interest from Premier League clubs Arsenal and Aston Villa, according to a report from La Repubblica.
The Argentine-born striker was the most prolific Italian player in 2024, scoring 16 goals in 35 league games for Genoa and Atalanta.

Last summer, the 25-year-old forward completed a permanent €22m transfer to Bergamo and is the joint-best scorer in Serie A this term alongside Inter’s Marcus Thuram, with 12 goals in 17 league games, one every 81 minutes.
Retegui is under contract with Atalanta until 2028, but La Dea will be unwilling to sell him in the January transfer window.
After a 2-0 loss to Inter in the Supercoppa semifinal on Thursday, Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini suggested that he’d need attacking reinforcements in the winter transfer window given that the likes of Charles De Ketelaere and Ademola Lookman can’t play “90 minutes for 56 games.”
Atalanta’s next game is away at Udinese on January 11.
