Arsenal and Multiple Foreign Teams After Inter Prodigy

Inter product Aleksandar Stankovic is growing rapidly at Club Brugge and has drawn the attention of several top teams, most recently Arsenal, Tottenham, Newcastle United, Borussia Dortmund, and Bayer Leverkusen, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.

The Nerazzurri, which pocketed about €10M last summer, will be able to buy him back for €23M in 2026 and a couple more a year later. They’ll have a say should his present team try to sell him to other sides beforehand.

Inter will have a decision to make on Stankovic. They could simply keep him to revamp their midfield, where they are searching for somebody with his traits, the future of Davide Frattesi hangs in the balance, and Hakan Calhanoglu, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Piotr Zielinski aren’t getting any younger. Or, they could recall him and turn a profit on him, considering he has deep-pocketed suitors.

The 20-year-old played under Christian Chivu in the Primavera squad and starred for Luzern on loan in 2024/2025. Club Brugge won the sweepstakes to add him last summer. He has notched 6 goals and 4 assists in 70 appearances in the pros. He has already featured four times with Serbia, scoring once.

Our Take on Inter and Stankovic

Cashing in on players who aren’t currently in the squad is a common strategy, but they are in a much better financial position than a few years ago. If he keeps going, the solution will be the most straightforward one. Chances are they’ll have to bring in multiple new midfielders in the next couple of seasons, which would cost more than what his sale would fetch. Plus, Chivu is already familiar with him and has worked wonders with talents.
