Arsenal announce news of McCabe’s departure

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Gunners this evening.
The 30-year-old Republic of Ireland international defender has spent more than a decade with Arsenal. She joined the club from Shelbourne back in 2015. McCabe has gone on to make 305 appearances for the North Londoners in all competitions in which she has scored 37 goals. In her time as an Arsenal player, McCabe has won the FIFA Women’s Champions Cup, UEFA Women’s Champions League, Barclays Women’s Super League, Adobe Women’s FA Cup and three Subway Women’s League Cups.
There has been speculation over McCabe’s Arsenal future in recent weeks and it has now been confirmed that the time has come for her to move on.
After McCabe’s Arsenal exit was announced, the club’s Director of Women’s Football, Clare Wheatley said “Over more than a decade at Arsenal, Katie has made a significant and lasting contribution to the history and success of our football club. Katie has led with passion and commitment, giving everything for the badge and forging a special bond with our supporters. She departs as a club legend and we are so proud of our shared journey together.”
McCabe joins Naomi Williams, Laia Codina and Beth Mead in leaving Arsenal this summer.
