In a recent report, The Sun mentioned that Arsenal are eyeing a move for Aston Villa playmaker Morgan Rogers this summer. It has been stated that the Gunners are showing interest in recruiting the English attacker in this transfer window.

Rogers’ Excellent Record In English Football

Rogers had a brilliant campaign at the West Midlands club recently as he was responsible for producing a lot of impressive displays for them in the Premier League. The English talent registered 14 goals and secured 16 assists in 54 matches for the Villans last season across various competitions.

The 23-year-old proved his worth in the final third by averaging 1.59 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He kept 36.4% of his attempts on target. Rogers even distributed the ball well in the opponent’s half after completing 73.2% of his attempted passes in the English top flight (stats via fbref.com).

Rogers’ current deal at Villa Park will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it difficult for the Gunners to sign him on a cut-price deal in this transfer period.

What Will Rogers Bring To Arsenal?

Rogers is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make some driving runs with it in and around the opposition’s penalty area. He can shoot the ball with venom from long range and has got the eye to play a few decisive passes on the offensive end of the field.

The English sensation can chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals up top and has already proven himself in the Premier League. He mainly operates in the number ten position but can also play as a winger on either flank if told to do so by his manager.

Rogers would bring more goals and creativity to Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta’s frontline. He is more than capable of challenging for regular first-team football at the Emirates Stadium this season.

At 23, Rogers will only improve with each year. Plus, he would also serve as a good replacement for Kai Havertz, who suffered a knee injury recently. With all things considered, Arteta should focus on going all out to bring Rogers on board before the end of this summer transfer window.
