In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Arsenal are prepared to step up their efforts to land Sevilla ace Lucien Agoume this winter. It has been stated that the Gunners are eager to get a deal done for the French midfielder in this January transfer window.
Agoume has enjoyed a decent run of form at the Andalusian club this season as he has put in a run of impressive displays for them in La Liga. The French talent has registered one goal and picked up one assist in seven league matches for Sevilla so far in this campaign.
The 23-year-old has offered solid protection for his teammates at the back and deserves some credit for making 14 tackles, seven blocks, ten interceptions and 13 clearances in La Liga. He has even distributed the ball well from inside his half, based on his pass success rate of 79.7% in the Spanish first division (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at the Spanish club will run out in the summer of 2028, which could make it tough for the Gunners to sign him on a cut-price deal in this January transfer window.

Agoume is a tough-tackling midfielder who can read the danger well to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He usually clears the danger when required and can even play his way out from the back.
Standing at 1.85m, the French sensation can be a strong presence in the air as well. However, there are some concerns over whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Gunners manage to land him this winter.
We can expect Agoume to bring more quality and depth to Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta’s midfield. He has what it takes to challenge for regular first-team football at the Emirates Stadium.
At 23, Agoume has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for the North London club to pursue when the transfer window reopens this January. All in all, Arteta should focus on going for a midfielder of his skill set this winter.
