Arsenal have been offered the chance to expand the Emirates Stadium, and the Gunners simply have to take it if they are to keep on competing with the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool and even Manchester United.

According to The Daily Mail, an architectural design firm has approached Arsenal over expanding the Emirates Stadium.

The firm has informed Arsenal about a variety of options in which it can be done.

Encouragingly for the Arsenal fans, the Gunners’ chiefs are “mulling over” which way to expend the Emirates Stadium.

The North London club have to consider the cost and length of time to complete the expansion project as well as how the chosen route would have an effect on the surrounding area.

Nevertheless, Arsenal simply have to become serious about the Emirates Stadium expansion.

The Gunners already have one of the best stadiums in England. With the team doing well on the pitch under manager Mikel Arteta, the fans are buzzing and there is a lot of excitement around the club.

The Arsenal chiefs have to take advantage of this situation and must become really serious about the stadium expansion.

Arsenal had the second-biggest stadium in England when the Emirates Stadium opened.

The Gunners have now fallen down to fifth. They are behind Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Liverpool.

Once Manchester City finish expanding their North Stand at the Etihad Stadium, they will go ahead of Arsenal.

Man United are also planning to build a new £2 billion 100,000-capacity stadium.

A bigger stadium for Arsenal would mean more revenue, which could then be invested in the playing squad and staying competitive, both in the domestic arena and in Europe.

Of course, starting on a mega-project like this also means making sure that the team does well on the pitch and continues to play in the UEFA Champions League to keep bringing money in.
