Arsenal are considering making a summer bid for Newcastle United full-back Tino Livramento, according to the Telegraph.

Gunners manager Mikel Arteta wants to strengthen at the back, and he could look to lure the England international away from St James Park.

The Arsenal boss has the same agent as the Newcastle star, which could simplify a deal.

Livramento will have two years left on his Magpies contract at the end of the season, and he has not yet shown a willingness to sign an extension.

It could be good news for the Gunners, but Newcastle are expected to ask suitors for around £60 million for Livramento.

He can play on both sides of the defence, which is one of the reasons Arteta wants him at Arsenal.

However, Arsenal may be unwilling to pay up to £60m for a player not guaranteed a starting spot.

He was also on Manchester City’s radar in recent months, but they have moved on to other targets.

Signing Livramento or another full-back will put Ben White’s future in doubt.

The 28-year-old will have options to move in the summer, having lost his place in the Gunners’ starting XI.

Livramento’s fitness issues could put a move in doubt. He previously missed almost the whole season at Southampton with a serious knee injury.

He has dealt with hamstring and knee problems this term, starting just 11 games across all competitions.

Livramento recently returned from a hamstring injury, and Arsenal will be monitoring whether he stays fit for the rest of the season.
