Arsenal are keen on signing Nordsjaelland midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi, according to the Daily Mail.
However, Bournemouth also want Yirenkyi and are looking to add him to their first team immediately.
The teenager is primarily a right-sided midfielder, but he has played at right-back for Ghana, helping them qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
He has been featuring in a holding midfield role recently for the Danish Superliga club.
Yirenkyi has been compared to Chelsea legend Michael Essien due to his style of play, and more Premier League clubs have been monitoring him in recent matches.
Essien is currently the assistant manager at Nordsjaelland, and the teenage sensation has been learning from his idol.
Arsenal could do with such a player within their ranks, but they face competition from clubs offering him an immediate place in their first team.
The Gunners cannot guarantee Yirenkyi a place right now, given the plethora of midfield options available to manager Mikel Arteta.
He will be looking to impress at the World Cup with Ghana next summer and will attract more suitors if he does.
Arsenal will continue to monitor his situation, but he may prefer joining a club where his development can continue.
Bournemouth have proven themselves when it comes to making hidden gems Premier League-ready after recruitment, and a move there may appeal to Yirenkyi.
