Arsenal have emerged as frontrunners to sign highly-rated German forward Nicolò Tresoldi this summer.
According to reporter Christian Falk, the Gunners are in active talks with the 21-year-old’s camp. Mikel Arteta is reportedly “seriously interested” in bringing the Club Brugge striker to the Emirates Stadium.
“Arsenal are currently the favourites to sign German striker Nicolò Tresoldi,” Falk posted on X.
The move comes as Arsenal look to strengthen an attack that has struggled for consistency.
Both Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus have faced fitness issues and poor form. Tresoldi has been identified as a primary target to compete with Viktor Gyokeres.
The striker has enjoyed a breakout campaign in the Belgian top flight. He has netted 13 goals in 30 league appearances so far, with 17 goals and five assists across all competitions.
His recent form for Germany’s U21 side has further boosted his reputation. He scored twice in a 3-0 victory against Northern Ireland on Friday.
Despite his German youth caps, Tresoldi’s international future remains a subject of intense speculation.
Born in Italy to an Italian father and an Argentine mother, he has attracted interest from the Argentinian Football Association, according to Bild.
However, Julian Nagelsmann remains a firm admirer. The Germany coach has even floated him as a potential wildcard for the 2026 World Cup.
“There are many players in the mix who could slip in,” Nagelsmann said. “That could include Ouedraogo, that could include Lennart Karl, that could include Tresoldi.”
Arsenal believe Tresoldi can develop into an elite European forward. If the deal progresses, he could provide the clinical edge the club have lacked in crucial matches.
