Real Madrid are understandably growing frustrated with the Vinicius Jr. saga, especially given how highly they value and rate the player.

As one of the club’s crown jewels, it is almost unthinkable that the Brazilian is at such firm negotiating odds with Real Madrid.

His demand for a significant salary hike, however, is not something the club agrees on and it is unlikely that their offer will improve even if Vinicius plays the waiting game.

In that sense, talks of a departure this summer have taken a serious boost with Arsenal appearing as one of the only possible interested top clubs that can afford to land Vinicius.

Arsenal’s current situation

As confirmed by Jorge C Picon in a recent update, the Premier League giants have privately confirmed their interest in Vinicius and are indeed considering him as an option for the summer.

Sources close to the player himself, however, have denied any contact from Arsenal so far. The Gunners are aware of the player’s situation but have not got in touch with Vinicius himself to discuss a transfer.

It remains to be seen if talks between Vinicius and the English side open and progress in the coming days. After all, Arsenal cannot proceed in the operation without having the player’s green light and an agreement in principle.

Real Madrid’s three options

Both Real Madrid and Vinicius Jr. want to work on a renewal, but that is impossible as matters stand considering that neither party is willing to compromise.

Talks will restart when the player returns to the club facilities in a few days, and all efforts will be made to convince Vinicius to accept the proposal.

Should that option fail, Real Madrid will activate their backup plan which is to enable the player’s departure this summer. Arsenal’s interest and contacts with the player will come to light at that point.

A third option has now opened up, which is to cave in and allow the player to stay for the final year of his deal. While that move will risk losing him. On a free next summer, it will keep the possibility of a mid-season renewal alive.
