Mikel Arteta is braced to be without his captain Martin Odegaard when Arsenal return to Premier League action this weekend.

The Norwegian was forced to withdraw from international duty after injuring his knee in a 2-0 win over West Ham, extending the fitness woes which have plagued him throughout this season.

But it is not all doom and gloom for the Gunners. The club and its fans breathed a collective sigh of relief when Declan Rice got the nod to start for England against Wales last week after he was withdrawn from the West Ham win with a back injury.

Ahead of next week’s trip to face Fulham, here’s all the latest Arsenal injury news and return dates...

Martin Odegaard

Martin Odegaard has endured a stop-start season so far, thanks in part to a recurring shoulder injury leaving him ruled out for a considerable stretch.

But after returning to play against West Ham before the international break, he knocked knees with Crysencio Summerville and had to be substituted.

He withdrew from the squad for Norway’s World Cup qualifiers against Israel and New Zealand, though he has visited the camp regardless.

Speaking after the West Ham match, Mikel Arteta said of Odegaard’s injury: "He had a clash, knee to knee. Immediately, he was uncomfortable. He’s not positive about it. He has a brace on it. Hopefully it's not that bad.”

Arsenal confirmed the injury is related to his medial collateral ligament (MCL), but no timeframe has been offered for his return.

Potential return date: Unknown

Noni Madueke

Noni Madueke made a bright start to life at the Emirates after moving from Chelsea, but found himself promptly sidelined with a knee injury.

He came off at half-time of a 1-1 draw with Man City, with Arteta confirming “he wasn’t well enough to continue.”

He was not named in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the October international break, though the Three Lions boss did suggest that, were he fit, he could have appeared in Bukayo Saka’s place.

Piero Hincapie

Another summer signing slow off the mark, Piero Hincapie has made just one appearance for the Gunners since signing from Bayer Leverkusen.

He has been struggling with a groin problem for some time, but he is set to return to the fold shortly.

Speaking before Arsenal’s win over West Ham, Arteta confirmed: “He will be available after the international break. This game came too fast.”

He is yet to make his full debut, but could do so at the west London cauldron that is Craven Cottage.

Potential return date: October 18 vs Fulham (A)

Kai Havertz

Kai Havertz has made just one appearance for Arsenal this season after he underwent knee surgery in August.

He picked up the issue in the Gunners’ first Premier League outing of the season, a 1-0 win over Manchester United.

The German is now on the mend, though, and is undergoing physical therapy.

Arteta explained: “I think we’re taking it from weeks to months. But knowing Kai, I cannot give you any timescale because I know what he's going to try to do.

“So I think he's in a good moment. It was a very tough decision for him to go and have that procedure done. But I think it was necessary and it was the right decision from the medical team to persuade him to do that.”

Potential return date: Late 2025

Gabriel Jesus

Gabriel Jesus completes the list of injured Arsenal strikers as he continues his recovery from a torn ACL.

He has returned to training on grass, but has not been named in Arsenal’s Champions League squad, implying he will not be ready until the new year.
