Arsenal are among the clubs tracking Bayer Leverkusen striker Christian Kofane, 19, according to Sky Sports, after a breakout Bundesliga season for the teenager.

Kofane completed a controversial switch from Spanish Segunda side Albacete Balompié last summer. A major overhaul at Leverkusen helped him emerge from the club's training camp.

With Patrik Schick injured early in the campaign, he scored in back-to-back Bundesliga starts in October, then repeated the feat this week. He has five league goals.

Across all competitions he has seven goals and eight assists in 39 appearances. After initially resisting overtures from the Cameroonian federation, he accepted an AFCON call-up and scored two in four.

His estimated market value has risen from €5m on arrival to €40m after a recent update. Leverkusen paid €5.25m and the report put a price of around €60-€70m.
