Speaking afterwards, he reflected on the scale of Arsenal’s achievement, which ended a 22-year wait for a league title.

Asked how invested he was in the team, Kroenke told Sky Sports: “Emotionally, financially, everything, this club means the world to us and I think it took people a few years to really understand what that meant.

“But now we’ve got some great people, we’ve got some great players, some great coaches, and we’ve just gotta continue providing them the resources to go out and do magical things like they did this season.

He continued, reflecting on the years of progressive improvement that led to Arsenal’s historic title: “Credit to our players, our staff, and Mikel for keeping their heads on. They deserve it.

“It’s nice to see the results at times, but you get really good people that have a really good work ethic, and you trust each other.

“Over time that trust gets tested at different points, but when it comes to fruition like it does today, it makes it all worthwhile, that’s for sure.”

In closing, Kroenke lifted the lid on his plans for Arsenal’s future, saying he has ‘several’ more objectives he wants to achieve with the club, starting with next week’s Champions League final in Budapest.

“We’ve achieved one of our goals, but we have several others as well.

“There is still one to be played for next weekend. So I think today is about enjoying today, and tomorrow we’ll get back to work because there’s still one more to play.”
