Arsenal midfielder Christian Norgaard is reportedly set to undergo a medical on Tuesday ahead of joining Everton.

Everton have reached an agreement with the Gunners to sign the Dane in a £7 million deal.

Norgaard will become the Toffees’ fourth signing of the summer transfer window after they completed deals for Hayden Hackney, Tyrique George and Merlin Rohl.

The Arsenal midfielder will be a direct replacement for Idrissa Gana Gueye after he left following the expiration of his contract.

Norgaard spent four seasons at Brentford before joining Arsenal last summer. The 32-year-old will bring much-needed experience and leadership to the Everton dressing room.

He was the Bees’ captain and his dedication has impressed his Arsenal teammates.

Norgaard was always one of the last to leave the training ground last season. Midfielder Martin Zubimendi called him the ‘best trainer’ at the club.

Leandro Trossard also claimed that Norgaard made everyone raise their level on a day-to-day basis.

Declan Rice revealed that Norgaard had been vocal in the dressing room in the tough moments ahead of Arsenal’s title triumph, and the Toffees need him in their dressing room.

Everton are signing a top professional and his wealth of experience will come in handy at the club.
