Arsenal sign Manchester City winger Kelly on loan | OneFootball

Arsenal have completed the signing of Manchester City winger Chloe Kelly on a loan deal for the remainder of the season.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Gunners this evening.

The 27-year-old returns to North London for a second spell. Kelly came through the Arsenal youth ranks before featuring for the first team between 2015 and 2018. A two-year spell at Everton followed before Kelly joined latest club Manchester City in 2020.

On the international stage, Kelly has been capped by England on 48 occasions in which she has scored seven goals. The player famously netted the winning goal for The Lionesses in the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 final at Wembley.

Kelly’s place in the England squad is at threat ahead of this summer’s EUROs and she has been vocal about the need to leave Manchester City to get regular game time leading up to the tournament.

After adding Kelly to her squad, Arsenal head coach Renée Slegers said “Chloe is an exciting attacking player and will be a great addition to our squad as we approach the second half of the season. She’s direct and explosive, with huge natural talent and ability. We’re all looking forward to working with Chloe as an Arsenal player in the coming months.”

Kelly is Arsenal’s second signing of the January transfer window.
