Ethan Nwaneri will join up with the England senior team for their pre-World Cup warm-up camp in Florida.
The 19-year-old, who spent the second half of the 2025/26 season on loan at Ligue 1 side Marseille from Premier League Champions Arsenal, is one of four Young Lions set to link up with Thomas Tuchel’s team in Florida.
Bournemouth’s Alex Scott, Fulham’s Josh King and Liverpool’s Rio Ngumoha are the other three players selected after their participation was confirmed on Friday, with Scott the only one to have made their full international debut with the Three Lions. Nwaneri’s participation was confirmed by the FA on Saturday. The teenager made 12 senior appearances for Arsenal this season before heading for France, where he made a further 10, six of them from the bench.
Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Jason Steele will also head out to the United States for the training camp, and remain with the squad as a training goalkeeper for the duration of the tournament.
Upon confirming his 26-man squad for the finals in Mexico, USA and Canada, Tuchel spoke of his delight of being able to bring along the quartet of youngsters.
“We will take some young players out who will train with us in the size of the squad that we need, and we have the two friendly matches to take care of the minutes and the load on the players.”
Tuchel’s men will face off against New Zealand in Tampa and Costa Rica in Orlando, before moving to their tournament base in Kansas City on 13 June. The Three Lions begin their World Cup campaign against Croatia in Dallas on 17 June, before heading off to Dallas to face Ghana on 23 June, and wrapping up Group L in New Jersey against Panama on 27 June.
