Enzo Maresca’s answer about Noni Madueke in his press conference this morning was pretty straightforward.
Asked about the rumours that the Blues could be opening to selling Madueke, Maresca said:
“Noni is our player. You can read a lot of speculation at the moment, but we consider Noni our player for the coming season.”

It’s a pretty straight denial, but one that isn’t 100 definitive. And that’s how we feel about the whole idea of selling him. The club aren’t looking to do – but they certainly aren’t set against it if a good offer comes in. It’s much the same with most players in the squad, but it feels especially true with Madueke.
For all his handy goals and good play last season, let’s not forget he was also dropped twice for attitude issues. Maresca always says he likes him, but has openly criticised his lack of “hunger” before. Most fans would agree – Madueke has his strengths and has steadily improved, but there is a sense we could get someone more efficient to replace him.
There’s interest too – last summer Newcastle were keen and it seems they still have him on their list. The Evening Standard today also add the fact that Arsenal and Tottenham are considering bids should Chelsea open the door to a sale.
Right now, Chelsea aren’t in a position to be selling any of their wingers. The confirmed ban of Mykhailo Mudryk plus the departure of Jadon Sancho means they’re in the market to buy at least one more, and until that happens we don’t expect Madueke to go anywhere.
