Arthur Elias and Kerolin look ahead to Costa Rica clash

This Friday (27), the Brazilian National Team will have its first challenge of 2026: a match against Costa Rica. Before the final training session in preparation for the clash, coach Arthur Elias shared his expectations.

“Costa Rica is a team with players who have international experience, playing in the United States and Europe. They are athletes who, like women's football everywhere, are developing and getting opportunities. But we have a game plan with our identity to try to prevail, dominate the match, and be efficient in scoring goals,” he said.

It is worth noting that it will be a duel between Brazilian coaches. Costa Rica's coach, Lindsay Camila, has previously served as an assistant in Brazil's youth teams and has led women's teams of major Brazilian clubs before pursuing a career abroad.

“A favorable point for Costa Rica is facing athletes that Lindsay knows well, knows their individual characteristics. She also knows my work, we have faced each other before, so without a doubt, she will be able to prepare the team very well,” stated Arthur.

The forward Kerolin also analyzed the match. For her, Brazil needs to focus on certain points and secure the victory to start the year well.

“Costa Rica is a national team that has been evolving a lot, they play a lot on the counterattack and are very good at it. They also have a Brazilian coach, and I think that is an advantage, a strong point,” she said.

“But Brazil came to win all three games, to start the year very well. So, we know our homework, and it will be an interesting game to play and watch as well,” she added.

The Brazilian National Team faces Costa Rica this Friday (27), at 10 PM (Brasília time), at the Alejandro Morera Soto Stadium, in Alajuela, Costa Rica.
