Arthur out for Grêmio against Atlético-MG, Monsalve assessed, Willian sidelined | OneFootball

Grêmio have suffered a late setback ahead of Wednesday's Brasileirão match, with midfielder Arthur feeling discomfort and ruled out.

According to Globo.com, head coach Luís Castro is still evaluating Monsalve's condition, while Willian also remains unavailable.

Arthur's issue on Tuesday forced a rethink over Tiaguinho. The youngster was due to join the under-20s to face Santos on Wednesday, but after the morning session he was called into the senior squad. Forward Roger, initially set for the academy game, is also available for the league fixture.

Colombian playmaker Monsalve trained on the grass at CT Luiz Carvalho on Tuesday after a left thigh muscle injury. He could make the squad, though his chances of starting are slim. Willian, diagnosed with a muscular oedema last week, continues intensive treatment to be ready for the Gauchão final.

Tetê remains out with a right hamstring injury and is a doubt even for Sunday's first decisive Gre-Nal. Centre-back Wagner Leonardo is suspended after his red card against São Paulo in the last round. Viery, a starter against Juventude on Sunday, is likely to keep his place.

In better news, Argentines Juan Nardoni and Leonel Pérez have trained in recent days and could debut on Wednesday. Nardoni was registered on Tuesday, while Pérez was already on the CBF's daily bulletin.

The probable XI is Weverton, João Pedro (Marcos Rocha), Balbuena (Gustavo Martins), Viery, Marlon, Noriega, Dodi (Nardoni), Pavon, Gabriel Mec (Nardoni), Amuzu and Carlos Vinicius. Kick-off against Atlético-MG is at 21:30 at the Arena in Porto Alegre, in the fourth round.
