AS Monaco confirm signing of Metz defender Sadibou Sané to 2031

AS Monaco have announced the signing of Metz defender Sadibou Sané, their third arrival, on a contract to 2031. The club said Sané, 22, joins after deals for Nazinho and Mathys Detourbet.

The transfer is for a fee of seven million euros, plus bonuses. Sané is a centre-back from Diouloulou in Senegal, like Lamine Camara, who moved from Metz to Monaco two years ago.

At Metz since 2023, he made 24 appearances last season, starting 23, as the club were relegated to Ligue 2.

He completed the 32nd round match against Monaco, but will need to show greater maturity and discipline. Last term he received two red cards, triggering six games of suspension, including one for a reckless tackle against Toulouse.

Monaco’s rebuild continues under new head coach Filipe Luis, whose appointment was confirmed on Monday.
