AS Monaco fans held outside Bernabéu after minor incident before Real Madrid match | OneFootball

Some AS Monaco supporters were kept outside the Santiago Bernabéu on Tuesday evening after a minor incident before the Champions League tie. According to Nice-Matin, the situation was said to be easing as kick-off neared.

Around 2,500 Monaco fans were expected in the away end for the match between Real Madrid and AS Monaco.

Many gathered late in the day to form a procession toward the stadium. An incident is understood to have occurred between stewards and a small group of fans.

Some supporters were separated from the group and held back. It was not clear whether any were taken to a police station. The club has been negotiating to allow those affected to enter before kick-off.

Video footage is said to show the supporters did not cause disorder that would have triggered the incident. With less than 30 minutes to go, the situation was reportedly returning to normal.
