Aston Villa are showing a late interest in bringing Newcastle United striker William Osula to Villa Park today, according to the Daily Mail.
The Villans are in the market for attacking reinforcements and the 22-year-old Newcastle forward is expected to leave the St James’ Park club today.
The Magpies have signed Germany international striker Nick Woltemade, while the imminent arrival of Brentford striker Yoane Wissa means the Villa target will find himself out of favour.
The Dane has a goal in two Premier League appearances for Newcastle this term and could prove to be a regular source of goals if he plays consistently.
Villa manager Unai Emery has a track record of improving youngsters, and Osula could be open to linking up with the Spaniard.
The Midlands club are expected to hold on to Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers beyond the transfer deadline today, but they need additional options in attack to compete strongly across Europe and domestically.
Manchester United attacker Jadon Sancho is expected to join on loan for the season, but Emery could be open to adding another striker to his ranks.
He has until 7pm today to get deals done, and while a big-money signing is not on the cards, loan deals and low-budget signings could be struck.
Villa are winless in the Premier League so far in 2025-26, losing twice and drawing once, and they will be desperate to strengthen across all departments.
Former Man United defender Victor Lindelof is expected to join the Villans as a free signing having been without a club since leaving the Red Devils earlier in the summer.
The Midlands club could be forced to look into signing more free agents after the deadline today, and they will not be short of quality options to pick from across Europe.
