Nottingham Forest’s resolve to keep Morgan Gibbs-White this summer could be tested, with Aston Villa among the clubs monitoring the situation.

According to the Daily Mail, the 26-year-old is expected to stay at the City Ground, but a transfer domino could unfold if Arsenal and Chelsea push for Morgan Rogers, which might prompt Villa to consider Gibbs-White as a replacement.

Head coach Vitor Pereira wants to keep his core together for 2026/27. Gibbs-White came close to joining Tottenham Hotspur a year ago before signing a new deal. Spurs remain keen, with Chelsea and Manchester United also linked, and Villa were first credited earlier this year.

Forest recognise his importance. He was central to Premier League survival under Pereira and his facial injury-enforced absence was felt in the Europa League semi-final second leg at Villa Park.

Pereira has stressed the need to retain top players to build something stronger, while accepting the market cannot be fully controlled. He believes the club and staff are aligned on trying to keep most of the current group.

This summer is seen as pivotal if Forest are to return to Europe and climb the table. Pereira would like Gibbs-White and in-demand midfielder Elliot Anderson available when the new campaign begins on June 15.
