An Aston Villa star has been ‘removed’ from a club’s list of targets after they ran the rule over him.
The Villans have been busy this month as they are working to offload fringe stars and bring in players to strengthen the team under Unai Emery.
They are set to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Donyell Malen and are expected to put Kasimpasa talent Yasin Ozcan through a medical today.
Forward Jaden Philogene is a player who could be on his way out of Villa Park in the upcoming days and he may not be the last exit from Villa Park.
Central defender Diego Carlos has been linked with a move away and Fenerbahce were credited with interest as the Turkish side have been looking to bring defenders in.
It has been suggested that the Brazilian defender’s agents suggested him to the Fenerbahce hierarchy as an option this month.
However, according to Turkish outlet Haber, the Super Lig giants have now ‘removed’ Carlos from their list of targets.
They spent time evaluating the centre-back and came to the conclusion he is not the right fit.
As such, Jose Mourinho’s side will not be making a move for him and the agents have been informed.
The 31-year-old’s contract is still valid for another 18 months and it remains to be seen if he ends up staying at Aston Villa for the rest of the campaign.
