Aston Villa will close the North Stand for all of next season, with affected season ticket holders able to move seats at no extra cost.
The club said the stand will shut while Villa Park is redeveloped to lift capacity beyond 50,000. Holders can switch to another area for the same price, except top category zone one seats in the Trinity Road Stand.
Those fans will get priority access to the revamped stand when it reopens for the 2027-28 campaign, with the chance to return to their old spot or an equivalent. They can also pause their season ticket for 12 months and renew when the new stand is open.
Supporters will be contacted before the renewal window opens in June. They can choose seats not already held by season ticket holders, or wait until the window closes to pick from any that are left, including non-renewals. Family and friends can move together, with consideration for larger groups.
Capacity will drop by more than 6,000 to around 37,000. Premier League rules still require a 3,000 away allocation, so there will be fewer matchday tickets for home fans. No decision has yet been made on ticket prices for next season.
Villa had initially planned a two-year build while keeping the stand open. The accelerated approach is intended to minimise disruption and is believed to deliver a significant saving on construction costs.
