Aston Villa ‘to eye’ Crysencio Summerville as Hull agree Matt Targett deal and Ipswich agree Abdul Fatawu fee | OneFootball

Aston Villa are monitoring former Leeds winger Crysencio Summerville, with Hull City and Ipswich Town also active in the market as Leeds resume pre-season.

Fabrizio Romano reports Villa have an eye on Summerville following Morgan Rogers’ imminent £117m move to Chelsea. Hull Live says Hull have agreed a deal to sign free agent Matt Targett after his Newcastle exit, The Athletic adds they are eyeing Leon Bailey, and Ben Jacobs says Ipswich have verbally agreed a £20m fee for Abdul Fatawu. Fatawu is expected to undergo medical tests this week after Leicester’s drop to League One following a six-point PSR deduction, a matter Leeds are pursuing legally.

Summerville is expected to leave West Ham after relegation, and interest has intensified since the Netherlands’ World Cup exit. Manchester United are keen but Roma are said to be leading, with a €46m, £39m, offer rejected and the player open to a move.

The Dutchman left Elland Road for West Ham in 2024 after 20 goals and nine assists. He added five goals and two assists in the Premier League last season for relegated West Ham.

Newly-promoted Hull, Leeds’ rivals next season, won the play-offs with 15-goal loanee Joe Gelhardt, who is open to a permanent switch.
