From September to October, from one international break to the next. A little over a month has gone by, and during it, five matches have been played, displaying a very strong AC Milan side. The numbers speak for themselves: four wins, one draw, nine goals scored, and only one conceded, and that too from a penalty, with a round of Coppa Italia successfully handled. On the whole, it's been more than a positive month for Allegri's side, which has improved significantly both in terms of play and character, with the results simply reflecting the team's consistent weekly effort.
Bologna, Udinese, Lecce (Coppa Italia), Napoli, Juventus: the fixtures have been anything but easy. The team's disappointment, seen after the draw against Juventus, is still fresh, understandably. However, this disappointment is a mark of the group's ambition and mindset, joined with the need to always do their best, not even being content with a draw at Juventus' home, a worthy rival who is regarded as a contender for the top four by the end of the season.
It's not just the results and the rankings that tell the story of our September, as there are other developments that deserve a mention. The new signings have settled in very well, just consider Rabiot, who made his debut against Bologna and hasn't been off the pitch since, immediately displaying excellent physique and a remarkable ability to adapt to new situations. Nkunku has already scored against Lecce in the Coppa Italia, while Odogu and Athekame also made their debuts this month. As for Modrić, he hardly feels new now. He scored his first Rossoneri goal against Bologna and ever since has been dominating the midfield.
Davide Bartesaghi has also shown plenty of promise. Born in 2005, he came up through our youth ranks, providing an assist in the Coppa Italia against Lecce. He has been dependable whenever called into action and displayed an excellent performance as a starter in Turin against Juventus. It has undeniably been a very successful month for the Rossoneri, who will now take two weeks to recover and come back stronger. The fixtures are back at San Siro with Fiorentina and Pisa in quick succession, then away at Bergamo against Atalanta, back at San Siro to take on Roma, and finally Parma, before the November international break.
