Cesc Fabregas is free to join Chelsea and become their next head coach “if he wishes” according to Como President Mirwan Suwarso.
The Blues sacked Liam Rosenior on Wednesday less than four months into the six and a half year contract he signed in January.
Rosenior is now the second head coach to depart Chelsea this season following the January exit of Enzo Maresca.
Calum McFarlane has been placed in interim charge for the remainder of the season, whilst the Blues conduct yet another search for a new head coach.
There’s understood to be seven or eight names in the frame currently, with Andoni Iraola believed to be one of them.
Chelsea will reportedly take their time over the next appointment, and they really can’t afford to make the wrong appointment again.
Fabregas is said to be admired by the Blues, and Como president Suwarso has said he’s free to join Chelsea if he wishes.
“If that makes him happy, that’s him,” he told City AM.
“You want your employees to stay with you for as long as possible but at the end of the day we don’t own him and he’s free to go to Chelsea if he wishes.”
Fabregas has done a brilliant job, with Como currently sat fifth in Serie A and on course to qualify for some form of European football next season.
