Atlético Madrid boss Simeone beats out the competition to scoop La Liga award | OneFootball

Atlético Madrid head coach Diego Simeone has on Monday secured for himself a well-earned individual prize.

This comes in the form of the award for La Liga Manager of the Month for December.

Simeone for his part guided his troops into action on a trio of occasions in Spain’s top-flight across the month to date.

And Atlético went on to emerge triumphant from all three, getting the better of Sevilla, Getafe and, most recently, Hansi Flick’s Barcelona.

The latter triumph proved to be of particular note, in marking Simeone’s very first away victory in La Liga against Barca.

Not only that, but the result guided the Rojiblancos clear at the top of the table, now boasting a remarkable 12-game win streak across all competitions.

In turn, on Monday, it should come as little surprise to hear of Simeone’s ongoing excellence in the technical area being recognised.
