Roma’s winter transfer window is starting to heat up.

News from Spain, specifically from Marca, is coming in regarding Giacomo Raspadori: the deal for the former Napoli player, considered one of the ideal candidates to bring quality and versatility to the Giallorossi’s attack, could complicate sporting director Frederic Massara’s plans.

In Madrid, the situation seems crystal clear: Atlético Madrid has not put Raspadori on the market.

Despite his limited playing time, the Italian attacker is highly regarded by Diego Simeone.

The coach and management appreciate not only the youngster’s professionalism, but also his effectiveness: with two goals and two assists in his limited opportunities, Raspadori is considered the perfect piece of the “Colchoneros” attack.

A transfer would only be considered if the player explicitly wanted to seek more playing time elsewhere, but even then, the Spanish club’s conditions are strict. Roma has offered a €2 million loan with a €20 million option to buy.

This deal, however, doesn’t faze Atlético: the Madrid club doesn’t want to risk having the player back at the end of the season and aims to recoup the full €22 million paid to Napoli just a few months ago.

To unlock the deal, Atlético is demanding that the option to buy be converted into an obligation to buy, thus guaranteeing the payment.
