It is clear that all eyes will be on Julian Alvarez as Barcelona face Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey semi-final.
The forward is expected to play a leading role in the match, even though his recent form has raised some concerns.
At the same time, his future continues to generate headlines, with Barcelona openly linked to a possible summer move.
The Catalan club have been monitoring the striker for months, viewing him as a long-term attacking option.
However, Atletico are in a strong negotiating position, as Alvarez is under contract until 2030, and his deal includes a massive €500 million release clause, which makes any move extremely complicated.
Atletico president Enrique Cerezo recently addressed the rumours and made it clear that there is no tension inside the club regarding the player’s future.
He also pointed out that there has been no official contact from Barcelona.
“Julian is a player under contract with Atletico Madrid, and he is happy.
“No one from Barça has officially contacted us to sign him, and that’s all there is to say on the matter,” he said as reported by SPORT.

Cerezo then shifted the focus back to the pitch, stressing that Atletico’s only concern right now is the upcoming semi-final.
“The only thing we are interested in right now is the Cup and getting past Barça in the tie. Nothing else.”
The Atletico president has repeated in recent weeks that the club see Alvarez as part of their long-term project.
The Argentine is still viewed as a player with room to grow, and the club believe he can become one of the central figures in their future plans.
At this stage, Atletico have no intention of placing him on the transfer list unless the player himself pushes for a move.
Barcelona, for their part, are aware of the complexity of the situation, as any potential deal would depend heavily on the player’s own wishes and the financial conditions involved.
Alvarez is currently valued at around €100 million, but Atletico could demand an even higher fee if serious interest arrives.
