Atlético Madrid star to miss Arsenal clash after fresh injury blow | OneFootball

La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have on Saturday been dealt a fresh blow on the personnel front.

This comes after midfielder Pablo Barrios suffered yet another injury setback.

Diego Simeone’s troops were back in action a short time ago, locking horns with Athletic Club in a La Liga clash.

The aforementioned Barrios, fresh off a recent spell on the sidelines, was reintroduced to starting duties for the first time since early March for the evening.

As alluded to above, however, en route to a 3-2 Atlético triumph, the 22-year-old was forced into a premature departure from proceedings.

Midway through the 2nd-half, Barrios went to ground clutching his left leg after a challenge with Yuri Berchiche.

Gritting his teeth in pain, it quickly became evident that the Spanish international was in no condition to continue.

Barrios was in turn hooked by boss Diego Simeone, set to miss Atléti’s midweek Champions League semi-final first-leg showdown with Arsenal as a result.
