Atletico Madrid could turn their attention to Inter midfielder Davide Frattesi after Leon Goretzka reportedly decided against leaving Bayern Munich.
According to MARCA, via FCInterNews, the German had been close to a move to Diego Simeone’s side but has now chosen to remain in Bavaria until at least the end of the season.
That decision has forced Atletico to revise their midfield plans.
The La Liga side had identified Goretzka as a priority target, but his change of heart has reopened several alternative options across Europe.

Frattesi has returned to the shortlist. The Inter midfielder offers energy, forward runs, and tactical discipline, qualities that fit Simeone’s demanding style.
Although he has not always been a guaranteed starter, he has still contributed key goals and impactful performances when given opportunities.
MARCA report that “The unexpected change of direction from the German disrupts Alemany’s roadmap. The Atalanta route with Ederson and Lookman is reactivated, Frattesi is taken into consideration and even a loan is no longer ruled out.”
Atalanta’s Ederson and Ademola Lookman also remain under consideration, but Frattesi’s situation at Inter makes him an especially attractive and potentially attainable option.
Whether Inter would sanction a move depends on squad depth and timing, but Atletico’s renewed interest adds fresh uncertainty to Frattesi’s role heading into the decisive months of the season.
