Atlético Madrid star linked with surprise move to Manchester City | OneFootball

A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Atlético Madrid has early this week been tipped for what would be a surprise move to England, with Manchester City.

The player in question? Nahuel Molina.

Right-back Molina was for his part heavily linked with a departure from Spain’s capital over the summer.

This came after Italian heavyweights Juventus expressed a keen interest in the services of the Argentine.

In the end, Molina stayed put, but he has since found game-time altogether hard to come by in Diego Simeone’s squad.

And this situation could yet culminate in a transfer finally coming to fruition for Molina in the January transfer window.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing English outlet TeamTalk, who have revealed interest on the part of Manchester City in the former Udinese man.

Pep Guardiola, it is claimed, is a long-term admirer of Molina’s talents.

On the lookout for reinforcements at right-back with a view to the 2nd half of the season, the Etihad brass could in turn sanction a cut-price swoop for the World Cup winner this winter.
