Augsburg’s Chrislain Matsima reaches agreement over Crystal Palace transfer | OneFootball

FC Augsburg’s Chrislain Matsima (24) is reported to have reached a verbal agreement with Crystal Palace regarding his transfer to the London club, according to Foot Mercato.

In search of defensive reinforcements to fill the void left by Maxence Lacroix (26) – whose move to Chelsea is all but confirmed – the Eagles’ management are said to have made the Colombes-born player one of their summer targets.

A product of the AS Monaco academy – a club which hold a 15 per cent share of any profit from a potential sale of the 24-year-old – Matsima left Monaco in the summer of 2024 to head to Germany. It proved to be a wise decision, as he has established himself as a key player in the Bundesliga whilst playing for FCA.

After suffering a serious tendon injury last January, the defensive rock saw the second half of his season take an unexpected turn, only managing to make his return to the pitch during the final stretch of the campaign. This did not, however, prevent him from making 20 appearances, 19 of which were in the starting line-up.
