Zimbabwe national team captain Marvelous Nakamba says they will use the FIFA World Cup qualifier clash against Bafana Bafana as a preparation for the upcoming AFCON.

The Warriors will host South Africa in their final home game of the qualifying campaign at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Friday (18h00).

Michael Nees' men are out of contention for a spot in the global showpiece as they are currently at the base of group C with no win and four points accumulated in eight matches.

While the game is a dead rubber for Zimbabwe, Nakamba believes it presents a perfect opportunity to commence preparations for the AFCON as they are pitted in the same group as Bafana.

“We are looking forward to the match, to give our best to our country. Everyone is pushing each other in camp, the morale is high,” said the Zim skipper.

"We are outside of the World Cup qualifiers but we are taking the game as our preparation for the AFCON because we have already qualified for the AFCON.

"So, it is an important match also for Zimbabwe, to prepare ourselves as we are in the same group with South Africa in AFCON in Morocco. So, we will give our best for our country.

The neighboring nations are in Group B alongside Angola and record seven-time African champions Egypt.
