The 69th edition of the Ballon d'Or will take place this Monday, September 22, at the Théâtre du Châtelet in the center of Paris, where Alexis Mac Allister and Lautaro Martínez will compete for the award for the best player, while Dibu Martínez will vie for the Yashin trophy.

Although tradition usually dictates that the awards gala takes place in October, France Football magazine has decided to bring the ceremony forward by a month. In addition to the iconic trophy for both the men's and women's categories, other awards such as the Kopa, for the best under-21 player, will also be presented. While various prestigious distinctions are awarded, as always, the highlight of the day is the award for the best player in the world, and in the men's category, we are facing one of the most exciting years as there is great unpredictability about the winner: Dembélé, Lamine Yamal, Mbappé, Vitinha, and Haaland are the standout figures who undoubtedly have an advantage, but the winner is truly an enigma.

In the women's category, Spain once again dominates the list of favorites. Alexia Putellas, winner of two consecutive awards in 2021 and 2022, Aitana Bonmatí, who reached glory in 2023 and 2024, along with Mariona Caldentey, are the top contenders.
