Barcelona sporting director Deco has on Wednesday provided an update on the wellbeing of star winger Lamine Yamal.
Youngster Lamine was for his part condemned to a spell on the sidelines this past weekend.
After the attacker was forced to sit out Barcelona’s La Liga defeat at the hands of Real Sociedad, confirmation was forthcoming that he had suffered ‘a grade 1 high right ankle sprain’.
Lamine, in turn, withdrew from international duty with Luis de la Fuente’s Spain squad earlier this week.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, the subject of the process behind the 17-year-old’s withdrawal, as well as his current wellbeing, was in turn put to the aforementioned Deco.
And, during an interview with Mundo Deportivo, the Blaugrana chief went on to explain:
”I think everything was sent to the Federation. When a player has a physical problem, the doctors speak with those from the federations. In the case of Pruna, who has been in football and at Barça for many years, he knows them all. They talk among themselves, the report is made and from there, the Federation decides whether the player should travel or not, and in the case of Lamine, due to all the tests they did on him, they say he doesn’t have to travel. From here, we are going to treat him and take care of him so that he can be back as soon as possible.”
