After securing a 3-0 win over Real Oviedo to reclaim their top spot in La Liga this past weekend, Barcelona will shift their focus to the final Champions League game in midweek.
The Catalans are slated to take on FC Copenhagen, a game in which they must secure a win by a higher margin if they want to remain in contention for a top-eight finish.
Heading into this game, though, Barcelona are without their two main midfielders in Pedri and Frenkie de Jong.
Pedri has been ruled out for a month due to a fresh injury, while de Jong has been suspended due to the accumulation of three yellow cards.
The absence of these two stars could compel Hansi Flick to try out a new formula in midfield – a 4-3-3 formation that could accommodate two attacking midfielders.

Indeed, MARCA reports that Flick could deploy a 4-3-3 formation this midweek, with Dani Olmo and Fermin Lopez operating as attacking midfielders, while Eric Garcia could occupy the holding midfield spot.
It appears Flick is well aware of the fact that Fermin and Olmo have both emerged as two of Barcelona’s most in-form players right now, playing a part in each of Barcelona’s victories this year.
Fermin, for one, has racked up three goals and six assists so far this year, while Olmo isn’t far behind with three goals and one assist. As such, both of them could start against Copenhagen.
This makes even more sense considering that Barcelona must secure a victory with a solid margin in order to get into the top eight.
