La Liga giants Barcelona are giving consideration to a transfer swoop for a member of the defensive ranks at Bundesliga side Hoffenheim.

This comes amid the understanding that the Blaugrana have earmarked Ozan Kabak as a potential cut-price addition.

It is widespread knowledge at this point that Barcelona are on the hunt for fresh blood at centre-back with a view to next season.

With Ronald Araújo continuing to struggle in efforts to find top form, and Andreas Christensen sidelined long-term once again, the Camp Nou brass have identified the heart of Hansi Flick’s backline as something of a priority area of reinforcement.

A shortlist of potential options, in turn, has been drawn up by Deco and co.

And as alluded to above, this week, the identity of one such target has been revealed.

The info comes courtesy of Spanish outlet Fichajes, who report that, ahead of the expiration of his Hoffenheim contract terms in the summer:
