The winter transfer window came and went without much activity at FC Barcelona, who focused on registering Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, while renewing some important players like Ronald Araujo, Gavi, and Pedri.
There had been talk of potential departures for players struggling for minutes but nothing materialised on that front either.
One player who was linked with a departure was young midfielder Pablo Torre, with FC Porto making a late move for the Spaniard on the deadline day.
After parting ways with Nico Gonzalez, Porto wanted to sign Torre from Barcelona to replace the former La Masia talent.
And while earlier reports suggested that the Blaugrana rejected an €8 million offer for the 21-year-old late on the deadline day, Mundo Deportivo claims otherwise.
Indeed, as per the update, the situation with Pablo Torre never went beyond Porto’s initial interest, along with that of other clubs.

It did not progress because Barcelona did not want to lose the former Racing Santander prodigy, neither by loaning him out nor by negotiating a last-minute transfer.
In this context, Porto, who did enquire about Torre on the last day of the market, did not even submit a formal offer and instead sought alternatives.
The report states that the Porto option did not convince Barcelona’s technical staff as the Portuguese club’s new manager, Martin Anselmi, was not particularly familiar with Torre.
Since the transfer was not requested by the coach, Barcelona did not view the loan option favourably as there would be no guarantees about game-time for the youngster, which would only risk devaluing the player.
Furthermore, manager Hansi Flick considered Torre a part of the squad, and the player was willing to stay as well, thus leading to his continued stay.
